Rihanna: “Beyonce Left Me Starstruck”

Posted in Uncategorized on January 30, 2010 by bitchboombye

In a recent interview with iTunes, Rihanna recounted her first concert experience, which interestingly happened to be a Beyonce show. Peep what the Covergirl model had to say:

“My very first arena concert was Beyoncé/Alicia Keys/Missy Elliott [in 2004]. I think it was the ‘Ladies First’ tour,” she said.

Despite her bad seats, she will always remember that special night. “I was in like a nosebleed seat, but I was in tears. I could not believe that Beyoncé was right there, and Alicia Keys and Missy Elliott.”

Rihanna was in awe of the artists she now considers her peers. “I was a little starstruck. No, I was verystarstruck, but it was so much fun. It was very inspiring and it motivated me so much.”{Source}

Needless to say the jokes kinda write themselves with this one!

Randomness: I hear a lot of ‘blah blah’ about going in on ol’ RiRi, but it’s only ’cause we care :-) . For all Ms. Fenty’s fierceness looks-wise, it’s such a shame that her talent can’t match up. A damn shame. There’s no doubt in my mind that if it did, she’d be a the total package. Instead we have this absolute stunner with zero stage presence, sheep-bleating over hot beats, and kinda making a mockery of the industry in the process. It’s important to stress that no one is going at Ms. Fenty personally (hell, we don’t know her); however it’s more about what she represents – image over any substance.

Lady GaGa Raises $500,000 For Haiti – In One Day!

Posted in Uncategorized on January 30, 2010 by bitchboombye

Pop phenomenon Lady GaGa has raised a staggering $500,000 (half a million) for the Haiti earthquake relief fund.

The 23 year old donated merchandise profits from the ticket sales of  her concert in New York on January 24th, as well from her website on the same day, to help victims of the disaster:

Speaking at the final date of her US ‘Monster Ball’ tour at Purdue University, the 23-year-old announced the total donation figure.

“On ‘GaGa For Haiti’ day, in just 24 hours, with very minimal marketing and planning, all the little monsters all over the world made over half a million dollars for Haiti relief,” she told the audience.”I know Bravado fell off their chair – that’s who sells all my merchandise – they couldn’t believe it! So let’s sing along for Haiti right now!” {Source}

Kudos to her for using her star-power for good.

New Song: Jennifer Lopez – ‘Everybody’s Girl’ (1st International Single)

Posted in Uncategorized on January 30, 2010 by bitchboombye

After the atrocious performance of Jennifer Lopez’s Stateside comeback single‘Louboutins’, the 40 year old diva is hoping for more success with ‘Everybody’s Girl’– her new single in International markets. The song ’surfaced’ a few moments ago; the question is, though…is it any good?

Thankfully from Ms. Jenny From The Block, the song is actually pretty decent. Penned by Wynter Gordon and produced by Mike Caren, the Pop-meets-Dance fusion positions Jennifer right in the mix of what’s hot on the charts right now. It helps that the song itself is probably some of the best material she’s served up in a few years (mind you, that’s not saying a whole lot). Whether it will strike it lucky among listeners will be interesting to see; in fairness to J.LO, it’s her first offering in a while that deserves to.

‘Everybody’s Girl’ is lifted from Jennifer’s new LP ‘Love?’ which hits stores in April

Rihanna: “I Will Not Be Performing At The Grammy’s”

Posted in Uncategorized on January 30, 2010 by bitchboombye

Contrary to earlier reports, popular Bajan model Rihanna will not be taking to the stage to perform at this Sunday’s hotly anticipated Grammy Awards.

Speaking on Carson Daly’s AMP Radio show this morning, the 21 year old confirmed that she will be attending the show, yet shot down claims that she’d be performing, adding “We messed their show up pretty bad last year. They might be a little mad at me.” The aspiring singer, real name Robyn Fenty, was referring to her much-publicised incident with then-boyfriend Chris Brown the night before last year’s show, which caused a media-frenzy and an overall bad aura around the Grammy’s. {Source}

It’s a shame; I really wanted to see Ms. Fenty rock the stage like only she can ;-)Still, I guess we’ll have to settle for the likes of Beyonce, Lady GaGa, Usher, Mary J. Blige, Maxwell and Pink. Sigh….LMAO!
